The Lenny Rothman I knew at Central and later on was a sweet, quiet and sensitive soul. We were good friends at CHS and although we saw each other infrequently (exclusivley at reunions), on those occasions it was as if only a few days had past since we last hung out together. Sadly, over the past few years I let Lenny disapear from my radar screen and now he is gone. For me, he will always be a fond memory of our high school days and beyond. Ken Rifkin
Leonard and I were close friends in the Junior High School (Wilson Jr.High) and into our later high school years. He was a good person and fun to be around. I offer my condolences to his friends and family.
After our graduation in 1958, I think I maintained the longest continuing friendship (over 50 years) with Lenny up until the past 5 years when he became uncontactable. He had fallen on very hard times, especially financially (in which I helped him numerous times) and I believe he lost his home and was placed in a "facility", where he apparently passed away --- but who knows when. Attempts to make phone contact with him were refused by the institution because I was not a family member.
I was deeply saddened to see him mentioned in the Philadelphia Inquirer obituary of his only remaining family member, his brother Barry who lived in San Diego, CA.
I knew and was friendly with Leonard Rothman in high school but unfortunately we lost touch with each other after graduation. I am sorry to learn of his difficult later life and demise.
