Alan J. Malinger

Obituary:

MALINGER, Alan J. Alan Jay Malinger (Nov. 12 1940 - Aug. 8, 2017) - 76 years. He is predeceased by his parents Arnold and Ethel Malinger and his youngest son, Adam Malinger. He fought Pancreatic Cancer and lived during the battle with his positive attitude; "Live each day the best I can, no matter how many or how few days I have left". Alan met his only true love, Gale Seltzer the summer of 1956 on the beach in Atlantic City, and has loved her since that day. They married June 25th 1961 and had three sons, Laurence (Samantha), Marc (Jill), and the late Adam (Andrea). Their seven brilliant and beautiful grandchildren are Alyson, Joseph, David, Jonah, Harrison, Elliot and Grace and they were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving brother Dennis (Phyllis). Graduating the University of Pennsylvania with his BSEE, he became a leader in the development of the military precursor to our Cellular Telephones of today. He pursued management training and continued within the Cellular industry recognized as a significant catalyst to the success of the businesses. His passion for cruising (shared with Gale) is known by all. They have sailed to all seven continents and were always ready to plan the next one. They made several lifelong friends on these voyages with passengers and staff and were almost immediately welcomed as "family" by the staffs.  They gained VIP status and always were treated special (as were anyone else traveling with them). Services will be at Temple Shalom, Dallas on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 1 pm and interment following at Sparkman Hillcrest. Donations to Temple Shalom Dallas or Temple Shalom Aberdeen NJ.
