John D. Lansbury

Washington Post Obituarie:
 

John Lansbury Federal Reserve Analyst
 

John Lansbury, 70, a financial analyst for the Board of Governors of the
Federal Reserve System for 27 years, died April 20 [2010] of lung cancer at
his home in Springfield.
 

Mr. Lansbury worked as an insurance adjuster in the late 1960s before
joining the Federal Reserve in 1970. He worked in the division of bank
operations, where he led reviews of the reserve bank's cost accounting
systems and presented budgets to the reserve bank's governors. He retired in
1998.
 

John deJourno Lansbury was a native of Philadelphia who served three years
in the Army before graduating from Temple University with a degree in
economics in 1964.
 

For 25 years, he attended Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria with his
first wife, Mary Miller Lansbury, who died in 1990.
 

He later was a member of Falls Church Presbyterian Church, where he led an
adult Sunday school class, chaired the building and grounds committee and
volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
 

In retirement, he enjoyed crafting wood furniture and doing metalwork.
 

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Jennifer Hobaugh Lansbury of
Springfield; three sons from his first marriage, John M. Lansbury of
Annandale, Benjamin S. Lansbury of Burke and David A. Lansbury of
Washington; a stepdaughter, Anna G. Buddin of Springfield; a sister; a
brother; and five grandchildren.

Richard F. Pendleton

John and I were close friends thruout our high school and college years. We lived about a mile apart. on Wayne Ave (John) and Carpenter Lane/Greene Street. John passed too young.
