What a pleasure to have known HARVEY HARRIS-- as I did during our high school years.  That was the real joy of attending Central in those days -- the great guys we rubbed shoulders with every day.

Harvey and I were together in MR. BRECHT'S French class.  You remember MR. BRECHT, don't you?  Besides being a French teacher, he was the school's truant officer.  Can you believe that Central had a truant officer?

HARVEY was a well respected and admired osteopathic physician for over 50 years.  He held leadership positions in the Academy of Osteopathic Medicine  When he saw me at one of our reunions, at the breaksfast buffet, he would day "JERRY,  lay off the creamed chipped beef and watch your cholesterol".

There is a very complete obituary of HARVEY in THE JEWISH EXPONENT of December 28, 2023.  It is the chronicle of a very full and accomplished life.  So there is no reason to mourn, really;  only to rejoice in the transitory moments we spent together.

David,

Good to hear from you!

Regarding the obituary for HARVEY HARRIS:

I took a look at THE JEWISH EXPONENT online and I was able to find it.  On the home page look for DEATH  NOTICES and OBITUARIES.  Scroll down and keep scrolling down.  For some reason it is not in alphabetical order by surname -- and it is not in order of date of death -- so I don't know what they are thinking.

At any rate, I printed out a hard copy for you.  If you like, send me your home address and I will drop it in the mail.   My personal e-mail address is    jeromegoldberg@yahoo.com

Also, the next time you come up this way and touch base with PAUL HIRSHORN and are planning a trip to the CHS campus, pls. let me know.  I would like to see the 210th class well represented.
